News broke late last night the legendary Iowa Hawkeye Football coach Hayden Fry had lost his ongoing battle with cancer. As suddenly as this news was released, it spread even faster through social media to the heavy hearts of every Iowa Hawkeye fan. To say that Coach Fry turned the program around doesn’t do what he accomplished justice. He didn’t save Iowa football, he MADE Iowa football. His legacy on the field can only be matched by his legacy off the field. The culture he build in Iowa City, principles instilled and the type of person he was greatly outweigh simply putting W’s in the win/loss column. His legacy will live on in those who’s lives he touched, those who looked to him for inspiration.
